SSND-SHRTCATH 4 6 10
Recommended for open bore options
The SSND-SHRTCATH 4 6 10 is a short, dual-node containment plug developed from a custom request to help with daytime dryness following a full prostatectomy. It has a flow-through core, so you can empty your bladder without removing the device, and it can be worn two different ways depending on comfort and fit.
Details
- Overall length: 4"
- Recommended insertion length: 3.6" (91.5 mm)
- Entry tip: 6 mm, tapering to 8 mm
- Primary retention node: 9.5 mm
- Sealing valley: 6.5 mm
- Secondary expansion node: 10.0 mm maximum
- Base shaft: 8 mm, extending 3/4" to the flange
Two ways to wear it
- Sphincter-lock placement: Insert until the internal sphincter rests in the 6.5mm valley, leaving the 10mm node seated externally against the tip.
- Full-canal placement: Insert fully to the flange, so both the 9.5mm and 10mm nodes sit inside for a double-layered internal seal.
Choosing your silicone firmness
Bob recommends #10 (Medium) if you want a stable, well-defined sealing plug. For maximum plushness and comfort during extended daytime wear, #00-50 (Soft) is also available.
Color options
#18 and #30 are available in pure translucent silicone.
#00-20, #00-50, and #10 use a translucent white base and can be mixed with our standard colors.
Please note
The 4" length is short and approachable, but the 10mm secondary node puts this at a beginner-to-intermediate level rather than the smallest size in our line.
Use appropriate lubrication and never force insertion. Stop immediately if you experience pain, bleeding, or significant discomfort. Inspect the sound before each use and do not use it if damaged.
