The SSND-5.5mm is a slender, 15" solid silicone sound with a uniform 5.5 mm (16 Fr) shaft and a smooth rounded tip, one size up from our 4mm.

Choosing your silicone firmness

For the SSND-5.5mm, Bob recommends #18 (Firm). Across an extended 15" length at this slender diameter, the firmer silicone keeps the shaft from bending too much during insertion. If you want even more rigidity and pushability at depth, #30 (Very Firm) is also available.

Color options

#18 and #30 are available in pure translucent silicone.
#00-20, #00-50, and #10 use a translucent white base and can be mixed with our standard colors.

Please note

The SSND-5.5mm is a slender sound, but its 15" length is longer than a typical beginner size — go slowly and don't rush the depth.
Use appropriate lubrication and never force insertion. Stop immediately if you experience pain, bleeding, or significant discomfort. Inspect the sound before each use and do not use it if damaged.
