SSND-SHRTCATH 5 7 14
Recommended for open bore options
The SSND-SHRTCATH 5 7 14 is a flangeless containment plug, originally developed from a prostatectomy patient's request for an alternative to external incontinence methods. Instead of a wide external flange, it uses a terminal node at the opening for grip and stability, so it sits flush without a protruding base that clothing can catch or loosen.
Details
- Overall length: 5.5" (140 mm)
- Insertable length: 4.3" (109 mm)
- Entry tip: 6 mm, tapering to 12 mm
- Retention ball: 14 mm (42 Fr)
- Sphincter valley: 9 mm
- Terminal node (external grip): 12 mm
How it works
The 6mm tip tapers gradually to 12mm, then crests at a 14mm retention ball that passes the main muscle threshold. Right after, the diameter drops into a 9mm valley, letting the sphincter contract and hold the plug securely. A final 12mm node sits right at the opening, giving a stable, flangeless grip point for removal.
Choosing your silicone firmness
Bob recommends #00-50 (Soft) or #10 (Medium) for this size.
Color options
#18 and #30 are available in pure translucent silicone.
#00-20, #00-50, and #10 use a translucent white base and can be mixed with our standard colors.
Please note
With a 14mm maximum node, this is intended for users already comfortable with higher-volume stretching, not as a first incontinence piece.
Use appropriate lubrication and never force insertion. Stop immediately if you experience pain, bleeding, or significant discomfort. Inspect the sound before each use and do not use it if damaged.
