SSND-The Rod 14-16
Recommended for open bore options
The Rod 14-16 is an extra-long, two-stage sound — a uniform 14mm shaft for the first 13", stepping up to 16mm for the remaining 6" toward the base, for a progressive stretch that's more manageable during deep insertion. 19" total insertable length.
Details
- Forward shaft: 14.0 mm (42.0 Fr) — 13" long
- Rear step-up: 16.0 mm (48.0 Fr) — 6" long
- Total insertable depth: 19" (482 mm)
- Base: Flared safety flange
How it works
The smooth, rounded tip guides in along the 14mm forward shaft for 13", navigating past the bulbar curve and prostatic urethra with a consistent profile. In the final 6" toward the base, the shaft steps up smoothly to 16mm for substantial volumetric expansion.
Choosing your silicone firmness
Given the 16mm peak diameter across a 19" shaft, Bob recommends #00-50 (Soft) as the primary choice — it provides the pliability and tissue compliance needed for comfortable placement at this scale.
For balanced flexibility with more column support, #10 (Medium) is also available; for maximum cushioned flexibility, #00-20 (Very Soft) is an option too.
Color options
#18 and #30 are available in pure translucent.
#00-20, #00-50, and #10 base colors are translucent white and can be mixed with any standard color.
Please note
This is an advanced piece — a 19" total length with a 16mm peak diameter is intended strictly for experienced users.
Use appropriate lubrication and never force insertion. Stop immediately if you experience pain, bleeding, or significant discomfort. Inspect the sound before each use and do not use it if damaged.
